Hill House at Trailborn Mendocino is Trailborn Mendocino’s sanctuary—perched above the coast and surrounded by land, forest, and sky. This is your wellness escape for elemental restoration, reflection, and creative reset, with arts-forward experiences woven into every stay (not just during special retreat weekends). It’s also a standout Northern California coastal setting for weddings, retreats, gatherings and celebrations—equal parts serene and unforgettable.
The Mendocino Hotel is Trailborn Mendocino’s “living room” in the heart of town—your hub for gathering, music, storytelling, food, and the kind of easy community energy that pulls you outward. It’s where Mendocino’s history and cultural rhythm show up in real time, and where staying feels like stepping into the local narrative (not sitting on the sidelines).
Hill House at Trailborn Mendocino will open its doors this Spring, with the expansion to The Mendocino Hotel at Trailborn Mendocino opening in Spring 2027. At this time, we are accepting reservations as we put the finishing touches on Hill House at Trailborn Mendocino.

Hotel Policies
If canceling within 48 hours of 4 pm on the day of arrival, your one-night deposit will be forfeited. When booking advance purchases or e-special rates, the full deposit would be forfeited if the reservation is canceled. Cancellation policies are subject to change depending on the specific rate or package booked.
Yes! Pets are permitted in certain guest rooms for a fee. Due to limited availability, be sure to let us know when you make a reservation if you plan on bringing your furry friend.
There is a daily pet fee at Trailborn Mendocino that will be added to your room charge.
We have a weight restriction of under 40 lbs per dog. No more than 2 pets are allowed per room.
You are responsible for providing your dog with food, and ensuring that they are walked/exercised. Please remember to clean up after your pups and keep them leashed!

You will receive a Guide to Your Stay during check-in, which will inform your stay at the property. It includes everything from a property map, how to access WiFi, how to use the in-room amenities, restaurant hours, where to book experiences and much more.
Base amenities, such as in-room Amenities, Devices, Grown Alchemist bath products, and Trailborn Wine Carriers are present in every room. The rooms differ in bed type, number of beds, overall size, view, and option of balcony.
Rooms with standard king beds can accommodate up to two guests. Junior Suites or rooms with two queen beds can accommodate up to four guests. Please contact us with any further questions.
All of our rooms are equipped with STAYCAST by SONIFI Solutions, which allows you to cast content directly from your personal device to the in-room TV. With access to over 2,000 apps—including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and more—you can stream your favorite shows and movies just like you do at home.
